About Me

Dan Watts is a Birmingham-based Director and Director of Photography specialising in documentaries, factual TV, and branded content.

Whilst producing/directing his films independently. He works with producers, directors, brands, charities, and artists, and draws upon his network to facilitate larger productions with his production company New Wave.

He can be hired as a director, DoP, camera operator, editor, and licensed and insured drone pilot for my portfolio and kit list (please see website).

Previous projects include creating VT's for Joe Lycett’s tour and comedy special More, More, More! How Do You, Lycett? How Do You Lycett?; and his independently produced documentary Newcastle Brown Male: Inside The Fringe, following presenter Jack Dargov and comedian Raul Kohli, as he takes on the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which featured on STV and Next Up.

His ongoing projects include; a five-part docuseries on the History of MAC, digging into the archives of the Midlands Arts Centre, uncovering the moments and people that made the centre what it is today; and Dion & The Unicorn, a film that follows provocative British artist Dion Kitson, as he prepares for his first solo exhibitions for IKON Gallery and English Heritage.
